Our Story: RockDove was created in 2002 by five birdwatchers of the Los Angeles Audubon Society. As their local shoe cobbler, they asked for quality indoor shoes to console their high-mileage, trail-weary feet. So, we handmade five pairs of slippers using a low-cut boot last.

The Experiment: With little to build on, we designed slippers with the goal of comforting extremely tired feet, using materials like memory foam, gel insoles, and anti-shock cushioning. The response was overwhelming, and we named our slippers after the rock dove (pigeon).

Inspired by Adventure, Made for the Everyday: Our legacy of creating footwear for the most exhausted, adventure-wearied feet lives on, but adventure isn't always hanging on a rope off the side of a mountain. We make slippers for anyone on their feet all day, from teachers to nurses.

The Sweet Spot Comfort Level: Our quest to create the perfect comfort level pushed us to become one of the earliest adopters of high-density memory foam in slippers. We obsessively tweaked the density and firmness ratings to achieve the "sweet spot" level of comfort.
